چکیده

Mites of the genus Rhizoglyphus (Acari: Acaridae) are serious pests plants belonging to orders Liliales and Asparagales such as onions, garlic, lilies, tulips. Their control by synthetic pesticides is becoming problematic a result resistance development in these mites environmental health issues. New pest methods thus need be developed. This review provides an overview studies related bulb mite management. Entomopathogenic fungi generalist predatory prospective agents for biological while entomopathogenic nematodes metabolites their symbiotic bacteria seems less effective. There are, however, many more organisms soil that might play important roles well other bulbous plants. Therefore, holistic approach based on understanding food webs environment ecological services essential developing effective mites. For rehabilitation conservation biodiversity supporting ecosystem services, emphasis must placed sustainable management (e.g., ensuring green coverage, minimal disturbance high content organic matter).

Allergological characterisation of the storage mite Acarus gracilis (Acari: Acaridae).

BACKGROUND Storage mites of the genus Acarus can be responsible for allergic sensitisation in domestic environments. Acarus gracilis is a frequent species in some geographical regions of the Iberian Peninsula. Since the allergenicity of this mite has not been described before, the objectives of this study were to characterise it immunologically, and to compare it with the closely related and mo...

The role of the bacterial community in the nutritional ecology of the bulb mite Rhizoglyphus robini (Acari: Astigmata: Acaridae).

The biology of many arthropods can only be understood when their associated microbiome is considered. The nutritional requirements of the bulb mite Rhizoglyphus robini Claparede (Acari: Astigmata: Acaridae) in the laboratory have been shown to be very easily satisfied, and in the field the mites prefer fungus-infected over uninfected plants. To test whether symbiotic bacteria facilitate the sur...

OBJECTIVE Sancassania berlesei (S. berlesei) is the leading threatening mite in breeding industry of Eupolyphaga sinensis and public health. METHODS Living specimens of S. berlesei were obtained from the surface of Eupolyphaga sinensis and purified with double-distilled water. The egg, larva, nymph, hypopus, adult male and female of S. berlesei were screened and picked out under microscope. ...

Sustainable practices to limit soil erosion: a review and discussion

How the review was carried out is briefly described. The review looks mainly at the literature published since year 2000, but does not exclude earlier publications. The sustainability of practices to limit erosion must be assessed not only in terms of the soil resource and the wider environment but must also take into account economical and socio-political factors. Soil degradation may be due t...

Biocontrol strategy, Compost, Soil-borne pathogens management

The effect of different compost-soil ratios on the incidence of Pythium aphanidermatum causing tomato damping off was tested in a greenhouse experiment. The inoculum density of 5% was determined to be suitable for inoculation in compost experiments based on investigations of disease incidence with 5, 10 and 20% inoculum densities. To evaluate the effect of compost on incidence of tomato damping...
